This installation consists of handmade tear gas bombs crafted in cast plaster. Each bomb was meticulously sanded and hand-painted silver. Resting atop each tear gas bomb are a variety of beans and seeds sprouting, including black beans, red beans, pinto beans, and lentils—a touching symbol of life emerging from death. It represents a reimagining of mourning and pain, envisioning light after such heartbreaking experiences, particularly for mothers who have lost their children.

The completion of this piece consists of 136 bombs, paying tribute to the 136 mostly teenage lives lost during the street protests of 2017 in Caracas, Venezuela.

It serves as a metaphor for the human experience, highlighting the inevitability of change and the opportunity for renewal.
