Since the beginning of my artistic journey, gauze has played a significant role in my work, transforming into numerous pieces of art. Its versatility and unique properties have inspired countless creative expressions. One significant experimentation involves the knotting process within the gauze, serving as a metaphorical way of stitching one’s wounds. This process represents healing and the intricate nature of personal and collective recovery.

The gauze has served many purposes in my art. It has acted as a nurturing womb, fostering the growth of seeds and beans, symbolizing life and growth. Additionally, it has been utilized in large-scale installations to represent the diverse soils of my homeland, Venezuela.

Building on these earlier works, I am now exploring how these concepts can be expanded into even larger installations. By studying the knotting techniques further, I aim to depict the healing of wounds on a grander scale. This exploration seeks to convey a powerful message about the process of mending and the strength found in interconnectedness. The large installation will embody the concept of healing wounds, both personal and communal, through the intricate and deliberate knotting of gauze.

Through this work, I hope to inspire viewers to reflect on their own experiences of healing and to recognize the resilience and beauty that can emerge from the process of recovery.

The gauze, in its adaptability and symbolic significance, continues to be a profound medium through which I can express these themes and push the boundaries of traditional artistic practice.
